THE GROVE


In the Begining........We have come a long way in six years. It all started when I attended a workshop for people wanting to start an olive grove. One of the first things the speaker warned us about was, "Do not try this if you don't want to spend some money and put in a lot of time and effort." To this date we have spent way more money and way more time than anticipated. The speaker was right!

What he did not mention is the fact that our personal reward makes it all worth while. The first reward was that we met other "olive people." Folks like us who really love what we do. Secondly, the physical labor helps keep Jan and I healthier. Planting, staking, irrigating, pruning, weed control, gopher control, harvesting, milling, constructing and of course, marketing is enough to keep two retired teachers very busy. Lastly, winning a Silver Medal at the Los Angeles Fair International Extra Virgin Olive Oil competition really made Jan and I feel pretty good.

The old cliche about "Working the land....." is true. We have put our good earth to good use growing olive trees to produce extra virgin olive oil. We hope you enjoy our Tuscali Extra Virgin Olive Oil as much as we have enjoyed producing it.
